Synopsis:A man only finds one way to stop his mental health issues killing his new relationship. Circa is a short film shot in Lancaster and Morecambe in North West England.

More information about the film: Circa began life when director and scriptwriter Steve Fairclough decided to draw upon his background in writing for theater and tell a story for the first time through the medium of a dialogue-free short film. Steve got a small team and cast together and filming began in August 2013 with a micro budget of £50 donated by close friends.

Jon Randall took charge of filming using a single entry-level Canon 650D DSLR camera and he and Steve worked closely together to plan the tight five-day shoot over a range of several locations based in the local area of the North West of England. These locations, including a local coffee shop and pub, were offered for free and with kindness. Everyone involved in making the film, including neighbours, friends and parents donated their time, skills and enthusiasm entirely voluntarily. The £50 budget covered fuel costs and some food for cast and crew.

After filming had been completed, Jon edited the film on his laptop whilst an original score and sound design were composed by Richard Smithson. The film-making process was incredibly fun for a such a passionate team working together for the first time. The invaluable efforts of everyone involved have all contributed to creating our our debut short film, Circa, hopefully the first of many stories to be told together.
